What does automatic pressure control do?
It starts the pump when you open a tap and stops it when you close the tap, so you don't switch the pump on and off by hand. The JP100-E and SJP800-E have it fitted; the JP100, SJP800 and JP200 can take a separate pressure switch controller.
Cast iron or stainless steel?
Cast iron pumps with brass impellers suit rainwater tanks. Choose full stainless steel (the SJP800 range) for bore water and coastal air, where cast iron would corrode.
How far can the pump draw water from?
The Rural Max jet and pressure pumps draw from 8 to 9 m below the pump, depending on the model. Keep the pump as close to the tank as you can.
Do I need a pressure tank?
It isn't required, but a pressure tank stores a little pressurised water, so the pump starts less often for small draws like a glass of water. That means less wear on the pump.
What warranty do the pumps have?
All our pumps carry a 12 month warranty, whatever the brand.
